"My Mother's Final Gift" *
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
- My dreams are varied, many, Some a little less than kind; But the most beautiful dream to me, Is when with mother, I did find. - As she was leaving me, For her new heavenly home; She left me in the arms of someone, At the time to me unknown.
-
Time has made me realise, It has made me see; This someone I've come to treasure, Was her final gift to me.
-
No, he isn't perfect;
He's difficult at times, but still,
She knew he could capture my heart,
Like no one else can or ever really will!

The poems on this page inspired by a person whose name shall remain anonymous, are marked with an asterisk (*). Although
this person knows who he is, he never understood nor could ever see the true essence of how much I came to believe in him,
still do, and always will regardless of what or may not transpire between us in the future, not by what he exhibited to me, but by that which he did not, and sadly, likely never will on both counts.
...And the song? Although I've heard it many times, I still always stop and listen every time I hear it...

"Secret L♥ve!" *
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
In my heart there lies, in a soft and caring place
A special devotion, unique, to a one and only face.
Granted I can't say aloud, what I feel, know is true,
But there's no one that can tell my heart just what to do.
If I must contain what lives, in the safety of my heart,
No matter what the cost, my lips shall not impart,
Except to one and only one, I'll share that which I feel.
No apology is required. He knows my love, surreal.
It is He that understands, it is He that sees it all,
Against the Almighty, my enemies so shall fall.
My heart talks to Him each and every day.
He soothes my cares and woes, delivers courage as I pray.
He tells me not to worry, that He will guard my path,
The magic He can work! Yet, no greater is His wrath.
The Keeper of the truth, the Commander of the light,
Eyes shall be opened, astounded by what's right!
-
So, although my Secret L♥ve will remain hidden from the world,
God will know the time, when it should be unfurled.
Until I get the signal for the time of declaration,
My heart will hold and cherish my love with admiration.

"One More Wish!" *
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
If I could have one wish granted unto me,
What do you think my only wish would be?
Would I wish for joy in every day?
Would I wish for worries to all go away?
Would I wish for money to pay all my bills?
Would I wish for warmth to ward off all the chills?
Would I wish for more time to accomplish every task?
Would I wish for to receive all that I might ask?
Would I wish for answers, I've been seeking for so long?
Would I wish for lack of weakness, always to be strong?
Would I wish for youthfulness, never to grow old?
Would I wish that my stories, for each and all get told?
Would I wish for my aches and pains to all go away?
Would I wish for each tomorrow to be a bright, sunny day?
Would I wish for someone to hold me all through the night?
Would I wish for my vision empowered with a much better sight?
-
All these wishes do seem quite wonderful to me,
But if I had one wish, my only wish would be.
To have the pleasure of your company for just one day,
But then I'd wish for it to last forever and never go away.-

"Conception Of L♥ve"
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
When love is sewn, thus taking root, No weed of despair can refute! When Cupid's arrow hits its mark, Quenchless is the ignited spark. With augmented fragrance love will bloom, Regardless of who may seek to doom. Where there's a will, there's always a way, For there's no greater force, still today!
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
'Tis true.. there is no greater force than love. When there's love
fueling the will, there's always a way, for the will of love does not
take 'no' for an answer, even if within ourselves we are insisting on
'no'.

"A Beautiful Dream..." *
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
There I was in a land so far away,
A land quite different, yet familiar, I'd say.
The stranger I met smiled at me,
A kindness about him I could see.
As we stood on the threshold of his humble abode,
A yearning within me began to implode.
He motioned to me to step inside.
No fear arose, at his request I complied.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
The surroundings were plain in a slight disarray,
My presence felt wanted in a subliminal way.
He fluently spoke in my native tongue.
I devoured his wisdom. To his words I clung.
He beckoned me sit, a warm drink in his hand.
His eyes were entrancing, his wish, my command.
I doubt if he knew, my heart was a flutter,
Or a touch of his hand would melt me like butter.
My voice was lost, though I craved to speak.
My knees were trembling, a true sign of weak.
He gave a quick, life history of him,
Smiled a smile that vanquished all dim.
Then he came close, reached out for my hand,
Asked me to come, but how could I stand?
I allowed his hand to slip into mine,
His clasp was a strong, yet, gentle entwine.
He led me around and showed me his place,
Then he turned, looked, directly in my face.
With his own, trembling hands, he caressed my hair,
Arranged it to suit him and proceeded to stare.
Frozen, but limp, yet boiling within,
My heartbeat drowning out the sound of a pin.
He cradled my face in his sweaty, cool hands.
I knew I was lost to all his demands.
His eyes grew soft, yet filled with desire,
As his lips met mine, already on fire.
Just a light teasing, caressing at first,
Not nearly enough to quench our thirst.
The taste of each other's longing revealed,
Igniting a passion no longer concealed.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Here's where I awoke, I'm sorry to say.
How I'd like to go back and continue, replay.
Dreams can be beautiful, leave us impressed.
Expose what we long for, our desire undressed.

"Heart And Mind To Host Unkind" *
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
It seems I'm at an impasse. I am out of syncs.
Heart is feeling one way; mind, it differently thinks.
I am just the host, though unfortunate it's become,
To hang around this chaos, better to be numb.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Heart is open, warm, showing willingness to hold
A nurturing environment, and so the mind gets told,
Be accepting, allow a person's trodding, although with heavy foot,
Don't dismiss too lightly without trying first, to put
Into play, the gears in full steam locomotion
To understand in depth before dismissing all devotion.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Mind speaks clearly, remembering past battles lost
And then reminds heart all that it has cost.
Mind rattles on, drawing from knowledge it has gained,
Knowing heart's intent shall not likely be restrained.
But mind, not so easily swayed or even daunted,
Stands its ground stubbornly, defying all that's wanted.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
So it goes, back and forth betwixt them every day,
The two wake up arguing with the host left in dismay,
The relentless monotony when bickering's never done,
The repetition exhausting with a winner neither one.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
But still the two in opposition, plunder causing woe,
Too preoccupied to notice or even care to know,
The havoc their host must unwillingly endure
All the while praying for an end or some cure!!!
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
However, in the background after full disclosure,
There is found a reason for the loss of host composure.
The catalyst, the culprit, of continual aggravation
Is the very same as the initial instigation.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
So the host begins to shout, screaming for attention,
Amplifying the need to explain the reason for dissension.
But the dispute has escalated, forged a new divide,
Heart and mind now bitter, refusing to abide.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Heart and mind so captivated by their mission each
Become instead unwittingly a vampiristic leech.
Depleted of its strength, the host then slowly fades
And by and by are drawn the last and final shades.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Heart and mind as well crumble in the wake,
And so, are never given a chance to even make
Amends or an apology to their kind and gentle host.
The saddest thing of all, the culprit's left to boast.

 -- "Present Though Absent, A Smile" *- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Aww, the smile I love to see,
Creates a smile, also in me.
-
Although a smile does engrace,
Displaying happiness upon thy face,
A sense, a feeling, of inner despair,
Though silenced is present to one aware.
-
For in your eyes, reflecting a view,
Is a sadness seen deep inside you.
I love you, I care, I would like to know
Just how to heal what pains you so.
-
Hurt leaves scars from wounds so deep,
Though we may smile, our heart will weep.
-
It matters not what others think or say,
They aren't the bearers of your dismay.
To one that cares, that wants to touch,
Every part is dear and matters much.
-
Broken or shattered, a spirit, a dream,
Shan't remain so in a loving team.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The eyes are said to be the mirrors of one's heart, of one's soul, and
regardless of the form or shape one's lips may take, the eyes will
always tell the true story. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Written by Sharon Donnelly aka Artsie_ladie © 2010-05-22

~ Yours truly loves horses and often acquaints my personality traits to that of the wild horse, hence "to love a wild horse". ~
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"The True Essence ..." *
Of The Wild Horse's Heart And Spirit
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
The spirit of the wild horse runs strong and true and deep.
Respected reverently, thy holder of its heart shall ne'er weep.
When gentled not by hand or force,
Loyalty and devotion cannot surpass the horse.
The wildness must remain, the spirit untamed,
No noose or hobble accredited or acclaimed.
The horse will stay close through its loyalty alone,
Needs only to know itself is still its very own.
Not demanding of the center stage,
But will enhance, precipitate, engage,
The holder of its heart, viability unseen,
Shall reap rewards beyond, also in between,
That which they can't fathom or even dare to dream,
For the horse is a giver, without limits for extreme.
-
But... dare to place a noose on the neck of majestic beauty,
And no man nor beast shall capture by sport or by duty,
The essence of the soul, the spirit contained within,
The heart of the horse, thus shall never win.
The lover of a wild horse knows its spirit shan't be contained,
To capture or enclose, to be physically restrained,
Manifests into longing for escape that overcomes
The loyalty of the horse ...or broken, it succumbs.
With concentrated lust, the horse will search for a way
To escape, embrace its freedom, ne'er to return on any future day.
-
Loving a wild horse is unacquainted with nor can it compare
To the likes of any other, uniquely formidable, yet delicate and rare.

"Dear Sire: I want to run wild! I want to run free!
For my spirit captured can never be.
If you hold me prisoner, my devotion will fade,
Bleed my heart, mold me into a jade.
-
Allow me my freedom, my loyalty remains,
Your scent remembered, your trust, my reins.
Although I may roam, but a distance not far,
Thy light shan't dim from my shining star.
-
Allow me my freedom, Dear Sire, and I'll never yearn,
But hold me captive, escape I'll seek to never return."

I'll love in return without boundary induced.
Capture, control, confine, I'll yearn
To break free and to never return!

"I Wish..." *
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
I Wish...
I could bring a ray of sunshine To you each and every day...
To brighten up your world
At least in some kind of way.
-
I Wish...
I could plant happiness in your heart, To bloom and shine in your eyes;
Authenticating your smiles,
With no reason for disguise.
-
I Wish...
I could wrap you in the feeling, The warmth of true love's essence,
Forever sustaining in abundance
Never fading of its presence.
-
Therefore I Wish...
For you... happiness, love, and peace,
Now and always, never to cease!
-

"...And My Dear, Sweet Man..." *
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Because we do not know, what fate has in store,
Should I be taken home to thy heavenly shore,
I would not want to leave, without telling you,
How much you mean to me, that what I feel is true.
Though we may never really meet, talk, or even touch,
I think you are amazing in the ways that matter much.
More than you'll ever know, you've so impressed me.
Just by being you, that others cannot see.
You sell yourself too short, but really you are so tall,
I'll gladly speak up for you, if I must, against them all!
You must be a wizard, for your magic has possessed
My heart, my mind, my spirit, each you have addressed.
-
To tell you all of this, the courage I must find,
Not knowing your reception, is what really scares me blind.
As I did say once before, expectations I have none,
You didn't twist my arm. There's nothing you have done.
To make me feel this way, the way that I do,
Other than the simple fact of you being you!

"Is It You I L♥ve My L♥ve?" *
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
I love someone, but can you guess who?
Whisper to me gently... Kiss me, if it's you!
Oh, you in my dreams with your luscious lips,
Drink of my wine of passion, 'tis best in little sips,
So we can make it last forever and a day,
Cleverly conniving different ways to play!
May we always tickle and insatiably inspire,
The essence of the passion and the ultimate desire!
May we feed each other's hunger and quench each other's thirst,
As we conspire to enrapture and put each other first.
-
An unmitigated truth, a truly tragic sin,
If we're so denying all of this we feel,
To let others infiltrate, silently possess,
Steal away from us that which burns surreal.
-
Shall our captured, lonely souls remain severed and apart,
Freed only by our dreams, each bleeding, aching heart?
Euphoric embraces in subconscious elation,
Epitomes of passion, pinnacles of sensation,
Our hearts devour with ravenous desire,
But as we awaken, we are left with the fire,
So out of control, an inferno of rapture,
We want to escape, but yet, wanting to recapture!

The arms of love, each other entwined,
The beauty of passion in rapture defined.
The kissing, the touch, each soulful embrace,
Expressions of pleasure written on each face.
As the taste of honey, drips from their lips,
In intricate detail trembling fingertips,
Trace the contours of each other's domain,
As the ultimate builds to border insane.
Separate entities unite in the heat,
As ecstasy engulfs, the union's complete!

"My Last Letter..." *
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
I come to you once more, as humbly as I can,
Just to let you know, I've been your biggest fan.
If I've brought you pain, then I'm sorry truly deep,
This was never my intention, to cause your heart to weep.
All that I have given, of my art, my writing, too,
I have made provisions, to show my trust in you.
I'll be around for sure, though I'll be viewing from afar,
Smiling down upon Yourtown and you, as I watch my shining star.
Just to let you know, as I walk into the light,
What I feel for you, I will hold on good 'n' tight.
Please be happy always, and always trust your heart,
If you're feeling blue, look upon my art,
For if and when you do, may a warmth overtake,
For I'll be smiling at you, in your dreams or when awake!
I love you!

"L♥ve Is A Pretty Horrid Thing!" *
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
There is one conclusion
That my mind has made.
Love is not about the heart,
But tis all about the spade.
Love is supposed to be,
A wonderfully, blessed thing,
But to those that treat is casually,
It has a bitter, painful ring.
-
For a person to get pleasure
From breaking another's heart,
Is the cruelest thing to do,
With measure off the chart.
How can someone be,
So conniving and so mean,
To shatter someone's heart and spirit,
Destroy their self esteem?
-
Then the nerve, to turn around,
And point their finger at
The one they have devastated
And scalded in their vat.
Monster doesn't cover it.
Satan would be grinning,
But what goes around, comes around,
And then who will be winning?

"L♥ve Till Death" *
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Each day awakening, hopin' my heart has closed the door,
So this aching pain will hurt, sadden me no more.
As my eyes blink open, my dreams remind me still,
My heart is as defiant, with just as strong a will.
-
Feeling the scalding words, as they burn into my brain,
But the tune plays on, altering not my heart's refrain.
Seeking so many different ways to cope with this desire,
But cannot seem to squelch, impede the raging fire.
-
Louder screams the voice of reason, shouting in my head,
What my heart embraces, opposition dare not tread.
Swords forged from cutting words, targeted with mission,
Unrelenting vessels attempt to force submission.
-
The wounds intensely deep, the river's turning red,
Still there's no surrender, as my heart is slowly bled.
Soon the beat will slow, grow faint and then die,
Haunt the soul that lives, leaving him to ask the why.

"A Million Tears" *
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Although a million tears my heart has cried,
They cannot seem to wash away
From my heart within, a love that does reside.
Although I sometimes wish and pray,
In torrential downpours flood,
Free me from the hopeless abyss
Cleanse me, use my very blood.
It is pointless to love, painfully miss,
Long for another, when it can never be.
Use thy sword, my dearest, please set me free!
-
Although my heart has cried a million tears,
They cannot seem to wash away
The love within my heart.
If I lived beyond a million, trillion years.
The love I know and feel today,
The sting would be as smart.
So my love, please hesitate no more.
Unsheathe thy sword, my dearest dear,
Plunge it deeply true, I beg of thee, implore.
From my lips one final time you'll hear,
In a whisper of my last breath,
"I love you as no other" as I meet with death.
-
You shall be released from
The chains that hold you tight.
When I become your guardian angel,
I will free you from your plight.
It is then you'll know the magnitude
How deep my love is, surreal.
Just know this my love,
Even death cannot repeal.

"Twisted L♥ve: Untwist It, My L♥ve" *
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
He watches from the shadows her each and every move.
He has not the courage, afraid that he will prove,
Cast a cloud so dark, ominous, and bleak,
If he talks to her, he darest not to speak.
The label that he carries, branded on his head,
No social skills, expressionless, cruelly it's been spread.
-
She knows he's watching her, although in silence he keeps,
So she hides from him, when alone in heartbreak, she weeps.
In her secret places, she gives him hugs and kisses,
The distance he maintains, it is he she always misses.
Her life is always busy, but she stops to notice him,
Declares her love and admiration, though her hope is growing dim.
-
Reassurance she has given him, time and time again,
But his insecurity, its chains, have truly captured him.
Her spirit, although free, cannot it so embrace,
Her happiness relies on his, but there's no smile upon his face.
Instead she sees the tears that flood his bleeding heart,
The chains that en-wrap him, she cannot pull apart.
-
She wants to flee as her wild spirit commands,
But her heart's been taken. It has its own demands.
Even though he hides, she sees him plain as day,
She loves all that others have so gladly cast away.
The treasure that she found when she took a closer look,
She knows she can't describe between the covers of a book.
-
To make the matters worse, as if they could be,
He is also trapped in a sea of jealousy.
Not of her nor of him is this beast so borne,
But of the past that haunts him, an evil woman's scorn.
The love that he so longs for, he must jeopardise,
Because of the vengeful daggers all in sweet disguise.
-
Others know the truth, but silent they remain,
Yet they judge him as they justify refrain.
So, I ask here, just which is twisted most,
He for his fear instilled by those that falsely boast
Or the warped mind of a jealous, revengeful soul,
That like a spoiled child, keeps blackmail on the dole?

"Scorned"
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
-
When a person is scorned, tossed aside for someone new,
Revenge can seize their mind, make reasoning all askew.
The line finely drawn between the two, love and hate, Will dissolve, merging both, a mutated integrate.
- These two power sources when united into one, Will orchestrate a bullseye not to be outdone. Revenge, besieged with jealousy, masturbates the flame; The recipient of such affection, shall never be the same. - For love and hate, the two opposing forces, Were meant to be apart, on very separate courses. If these two power entities unite with no divide, Destruction will be eminent and relentless be the tide. - Love invokes compassion, is forgiving, true, sincere. Hate is unyielding, only for thyself, deception to revere. With the two combined, the love becomes distorted, The hate is then disguised in ways, masterly assorted.

"Emptiness" *
...a poem as well as a quote...
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
You can be in a crowd,
You can party till dawn,
You can be busy with life,
But when all is drawn;
Without someone to share with,
To hug and to hold,
Leaves one inside..
Empty and cold.
