(Banner) --- Artsie's Poetry: Daughter (Divider) "A Mother's Thoughts With Love..." - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - To my daughter that of her, I really am so proud. To tell that I hold her dear I cannot speak too loud. Since the day I brought her home, my tiny, sweet delight, I'll hug and hold her in my heart, adore with all my might! Yesterday is faded time, but the memories remain so clear. Today is the making of tomorrow's time so dear. A mother's love cannot be measured for it is without end, No matter what the days may bring or what that may descend. The ocean wide, the sky immense, cannot hold my love And I pray with each new day, that she looks to Him above. Sure, I've learned to do without, through the years of strife. I'd do it all again, you know. I'd even give my life. She's at the age now, where I cannot protect. It's such a helpless feeling that my heart cannot reject. Most of all I hope and pray, that I have for her thus made, A foundation strong in faith in God that shall never fade. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - © 9/1/2005 ...by Sharon Donnelly ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Mom, I Want...." - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - "Can I have some money for... A new pair of shoes? A new pair of skates? A new CD is out now. I don't wanna' to be a kid that waits. Oh, Mom, those jeans are so cool. The kids will envy me. That top I gotta' have, 'Cause it's perfect just for me! I wanna' go to the movies, 'Cause that new movie just came out. It's the one I gotta' see And all the kids are talking about. Oh, the latest Harry Potter book Is now available to buy. Can't you just give me the money? Do you always have to ask me why? Mom, you should see this! Some kids at school have the neatest thing. I want to have one, too. To me, the joy it will bring. Oh, Mom! Can we talk about my allowance? It seems it's not enough to get the things I need. You know, all that cool stuff That I can't live without, indeed!" - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Hmmm...Mom contemplates. "My pocket's always empty. Yet, they think I've a pot o' gold. So, my kids think I have plenty! Must be my taxi service Runs on air that's free. My money must grow on trees, But such I do not see!" - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Moms would like to give their kids The world plus so much more. They'll protect against all enemies In spite the pain they would endure. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - So, take a little time to think, What your Mom does everyday. Everything she does for you So, she deserves to hear you say... "Mom, I love you. Happy Mother's Day!" - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - © 5/9/2006 by Sharon Donnelly...aka [*Artsie_ladie*] ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Mom's Taxi" - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - This private taxi service Is not publicly owned. There's a friend I need to greet. My friends are counting on me, So, the game I just can't miss. Don't forget today's the day I'm mentoring as a big sis. Oh, yeah! Did I mention? I need to go to the mall, 'Cause next week is the dance. Remember...the home coming ball? Oh, Mom! I can't find my notes. I think they are in my book. Oh, no! They must be at school, But I forgot to look. Mom...do you think you could... Or would it be out of your way? I think I've missed the bus. Can you drive me to school today?" - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Mom replies. "I s'pose I can. How did you miss the bus?" - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - "I don't know....*sighs* Please, don't make a fuss!" - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - © 5/9/2006 by Sharon Donnelly...aka [*Artsie_ladie*] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (Divider) |
